The summer is in full swing, and we are preparing for the brief “July 4th” lull before one of the busiest July’s in FCC’s history. I wanted to share with you a few of the coaches’ comments from our June camps: Camp Week 1 Kennesaw State University – Kennesaw, GA “FCC camp was excellent, our squad felt encouraged” “We had a Great FBI experience” “The FCC staff was wonderful. The staff was very encouraging and gave excellent criticism” “It was helpful to hear how other coaches run their program” “Jump class has improved a great deal. Good job making the girls work hard!” “Two of my cheerleaders gave their lives to Christ!” Houston Baptist University – Houston, TX “Great Dynamic Speakers” “The stunt program was great” “Game Ready was so helpful, now my girls know how to cheer at games and the got to hear from another squad!” “Every staffer that personally interacted with my girls treated them kindly and with patience. The instructors had a unique balance of love and truth!” Camp Week 2 Westminster Catawba Christian – Rock Hill, SC “We loved the Game Ready section. Our girls learned how to adapt even if one of our girls is missing. We know how to get our crown involved” “Our FBI was always encouraging even when they had to get tough with our squad”
“I loved the new Game Ready because we have such a hard time getting our crowd involved so I thought this was a wonderful idea” “This was a well developed program!” “I attended camp with a different company last year. I feel like in a lot of ways FCC had better information for the coaches as well as being more challenging for the girls. I don’t see any reason to go back to that other company!” “My girls loved the Game Ready peer evaluation!” Camp Week 3 Southwestern Assemblies of God University – Waxahachie, TX “I had 4 girls rededicate their lives to Lord; I also had several realize their gifts.” My girls have become more comfortable with crowd involvement thanks to the Game Ready Peer Evaluations!” “The staff was professional yet still able to connect with the campers. We also had a dynamic camp director she as organized and always ran on time.”
“Our girls have shown a big change in their attitudes towards each other this week. They began praying together each night before bed. It wasn’t a personal spiritual decision but a collective one.” “Our instructor was amazing, she pushed my girls to perfection, and the great thing about it is she asked our permission first!” “Our instructor was extremely talented. She taught my girls so much while always pushing them to do their best and demanding perfection. This is exactly what I wanted!” Briarwood Christian School – Birmingham, AL “My girls have grown closer in their relationship with Christ” “Communication was great during coaches meetings.” Seattle Pacific University – Seattle, WA “Our director was knowledgeable, and determined to give us a great camp experience. He is welcomed back at any time.” “The Game Ready portion was very helpful. Our squad is not in the habit of getting the crowd involved .This will DEFINITELY change the way we cheer at games.” “Stunt Class Rocked” “These were probably the best coaches’ workshops I’ve been in. Our director did a tremendous job as communicating.” Camp Week 4 Palm Beach Atlantic University – West Palm Beach, FL “We love the way the staff related to the kids.” “Worship was amazing, this time was much needed.” “We had several girls set spiritual goals.” “Everyone was fabulous, that is why we continue to return every year.” Azusa Pacific University – Azusa, CA Belhaven University – Jackson, MS “Putting the Pieces Together” has been a powerful theme that has challenged cheerleaders, coaches, and staff alike to evaluate their heart to create a powerful atmosphere of unity. Each camp has been given the opportunity to evaluate our own heart, refocus as a squad, and realize the need to reach out in a very real way. On the cheerleading side, we have seen strong cheerleaders across the country from Seattle all the way to West Palm Beach. The excitement about FCC’s new “Game Ready Evaluation and the additional new surprises at camp have been overwhelming. When changes occur, there is always a time of transition, and as Tina Arnold, Program Director stated, “A lot of people were stretched outside of their comfort zone, getting a real taste of what FCC is all about!” It’s been so fun watching squads step up to the challenge! We hope you will continue to be in prayer for the FCC Staff as they will continue to travel many miles over the next few weeks. Also, be in prayer for the eternity changing decisions that were made at camp… pray for protection and for accountability. Pray for the commitments of unity made… pray that they will stand the test of time, frustration, and the many distractions which will be – and are already being - faced.
